How this started

The man in 14A was lying flat. His blanket was pulled up to his chin and his window shade was down. Behind the curtain, I was in row 43 with my knees pressed against the seat in front of me, trying to sleep with the reading light from 43B in my eyes.

That was a flight to Paris, years ago. I remember thinking there has to be a smarter way to do this.

Back home, I started looking. Most business class tickets cost €3,000 to €5,000. I was not willing to accept that. So every morning, espresso in hand, I searched through routes, dates, and booking pages that most people never open.

One Wednesday I found Jakarta in business class for under €800. I checked it twice, then smiled.

Here is what I learned. When the cabin is not full, the price drops. A small window opens, sometimes for hours, sometimes for a day or two. Then it shuts again. If you know where to look, you can catch it.

I shared that Jakarta deal on a frequent flyer forum. Dozens of people booked it. They wrote back to say thank you.

That is how this started.

Why no affiliate links

One thing I decided early on. I would never use affiliate links. Most flight deal sites earn money by sending you to a booking platform. The platform pays them a commission. That means their link does not always point to the cheapest option.

I send you directly to the airline. The cheapest route. The best cancellation terms. Nothing in between. When you book direct, you deal with the airline. One phone call to change a date. One conversation to sort a problem. No middleman.

That is why this club exists. I find the best fares, and I send you a clean path to book them.

• We are not a travel agent. We do not book your trips, hold your ticket, or rebook you when something goes wrong.
• We are not a booking site. Every link in every alert goes direct to the airline. Your ticket is between you and them.
• We are not an affiliate marketer. We earn nothing when you book. Your annual membership is our entire revenue model. That keeps us honest about which fares we recommend.
• We are for people who fly long-haul at least once a year and care how they arrive. Whether your trips are twice a year on holiday or twice a month for work, one good fare typically pays for years of membership.

A note from Skip

I built this because I wanted to fly business class without the price tag, and I figured other people did too. Seven years later, I am still finding the deals personally. Every alert that goes out is one I would book myself.
